    I resold a 8700 from Cingular/ATT and am trying to help the buyer activate her own email account. The problem is that the phone is "locked" to another BIS or BES account and we need to get it released. Unfortunately, there is no way to contact the original owner. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? ATT has not to this point been much help to resolve the issue. Thanks in advance!

    You will have to get AT&T to assist if the device was used on their network. You can also contact RIM and have them release the PIN, but I believe you have to go through AT&T to get to them.
