PLEASE HELP me with my 7100i

I have never been around a bb before and I just got a 7100i and I've been trying to download ringtones to it. I've read some posts that said mp3 songs cannot be downloaded and something about needing .midi or .wav ones. I have no clue what this means. I tried to install the disc that came with my bb, but obviously didn't do that correctly because I just get error messages saying I did it wrong. Can someone please help me and tell me step by step what I need to do? Sorry for my ignorance. You're more than welcome to send me a private message also. Thanks in advance for your time!!

this phone only takes midi tones and wav tones. both need to be properly formated to be used on the phone.

I have found that converting a wav tone in the same maner that you would use for other nextel phones works very well.

I also just got a 7100i a couple of months ago. I haven't had time until now to try to download ringtones, and I've never downloaded ringtones for any other device. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Do I have to convert a midi ringtone after I download it for it to work??
