    I just got a Blackberry 7100g and am at a loss. When viewing a contact in my address book I press the click wheel and select 'Call _______', but rather than calling the number I will instead hear the same automated message ("Unfortunetly we cannot complete your call as dialed. Please check the number, and try your call again."). This happens with every contact despite every number being correct. I have tried several methods of making the calls, including redialing from the list of recent calls.

    Outgoing calls work perfectly ONLY if I enter the number manually or if I view the contact and then copy the number and then paste it into the phone menu.

    I had an Old Blue model last year, and had the same problem. While it is possible to still use the device, it is incredibly tedious to copy & paste the number each time I need to make a call.

    Do you have ten-digit phone numbers? Do you have the area code set in Phone Options/Smart Dialing?
