I just think it's not fair that owner of devices with OS10 have everything, free of charge, while us who are owner of older devices still must pay for BIS to have same thing as them.
In my country I must pay about 10Euros per month just to have my BB device working as it should. Not data included, you're stuck with data you get on your data plan. So in order to use BBM, push-mail, Apps, BBWorld I must pay 10Eur every month, while users on OS10 have it all for free. This puts owners of older phones in bad position. I really like my 9900, but if I use BIS for 3 years, it will cost me 360Eur, and for that money I can buy Z10 or Q5 and don't worry about paying BIS. Does Blackberry plans to remove pricetag from BIS?
    It's just not fair!

If it were free then I wouldn't have to pay T-mobile $107 USD every month. Nothing is free. Both OS's have there advantages and disadvantages.

We OS 10 users still have to pay for a data plan to make it work.

Ditto what the others said. I'm still paying for data, just not BIS. But BIS is going away eventually, so it's moot.

You are luck, over here in SIN. You have to pay for local data and a separate BIS plan. We just have to pay and pay for everything, even we have 3 Telcos!!

    That's life, nothing comes free.

Over here BIS is like the same as a plabn with 1 GB of data, so I was never upset about paying for it :P

I would be happy if I could get some data with BIS. Here when you pay BIS, you only get that, BIS, no data. In order to get data, you must choose your plan. Currently my plan costs about 12euros and gives me 325 minutes, 325 sms/mms and 325MB. On top of that I must pay another 11Euros for BIS. That's like 20something euros (depending on exchange rate) in country where your paycheck is 250 Euros...
So I did the math, in 2 years, just for BIS i would pay 272 euros + data plan. So for me it's better just to get Z10, here it's about 310EUR and no BIS Only problem is that model here is STL100-1, I could find STL100-2 but they are about 50 euros more expencive. And my country doesn't even support LTE.

If you're country doesn't support LTE and you don't plan on moving to a country that uses it in the foreseeable future, the STL100-1 should be just fine

My country doesn't have LTE and it's barely covered with 3G. I'm not planing to move to another country for at least 1 year, and even when I go there I will go for work where my pay will be 4x bigger than here, so getting a new phone won't be problem. So if in couple of days my seller doesn't get 100-2 i will take 100-1. Solved

My seller just tried to trick me. He promessed me one price, but when I called to confirm my deal, he was playing dumb, telling me that he never promised that price. Price is now 10% bigger. (regular). So I did a biiig search online and found STL100-2 for less money and same payment options

I have been in romania and the career I used it at that moment was orange , I still have my sim somewhere , I remember it was prepay and unlimited bis was 4 euro .. So I can't really figure out why you're paying 8 .. +_+

In the USA my BIS data is the same price I would pay for an iPhone, Android or WP8. There is no difference in cost.

I've switched to Vodafone a couple years back because of Orange's reception and internet speed. But I don't know how you got that deal...the cheapest BIS plan you can get from Orange right now is over 10 euros..

On Vodafone UK, I have just bought a SIM only plan for 9 per month that includes BIS via WiFi. The same plan is available for other phones for 9.
    Per-month, I get: 300 minutes, 500 texts, 250MB data and 750MB WiFi.

BIS is going to be shut down one day. On the consumer side it will be just data as it is on BB10. The old BBOS system is going away.

I expect sometime, maybe beginning in 20 years, we will be paying one flat rate for service, no separate voice and data, there will be no voice network, it will all be data.

how did u got bis in 120 R.S($2) which service provider(India), i would like to use it??!!! all i know is it costs 400 R.S/month($6.5) along with data if you want to use bis service and other bis plans are like for a week and so which ultimately sum's up to 400 per month, where as other normal data plans which doesn't require bis are only 150/month($2.5) with which now you can use bbm on android and all the other services like mail and so on if u are using android(don't know about i-phone if it requires something like bis or else it would be same for i-phone as android)..

I personally would like to have bis on my z10 back.
It's pretty much cheaper and unlimited other than the 1.25, 3, 7 GB limited plans that starts from 25 to 100 EGP and doesn't stay for long but for BIS I only had to pay 50 EGP and I get unlimited Internet access with everything enabled even mail
