I have a blackberry z30 that has a broken sim and cracked screen so other than this post I really have no use for it. I have a computer that I am currently using as a Linux distribution test center. I had a HTC one m8 that I used to receive wifi and tethered to the computer via USB, worked very well with great speeds. Is there any way to do the same thing using my BlackBerry z30. If I try setting up tethering via USB it tells me to connect to mobile network. I couldn't if I wanted to. (broken sim tray) on my m8 I could just share whatever connection I was using, wifi /mobile data. Any ideas?

You want to use the Z30 an external wifi card. AFAIK it will only share mobile network data. Similar thread here:
