Maybe it is just my device, but with 10.2.1.1055 on my Z30 (STA100-3) I can no longer use USB OTG. When I first got my Z30 it worked fine, I installed 10.2.1.1055 and it no longer recognizes the flash drive. Has anyone else run into this? I am installing 10.2.0.1803 to see if that works better, but I cannot go back to stock because Link is acting stupid.

I had no luck with 10.2.0.1803 and Link is still acting stupid. I guess I will have to go without, but I shouldn't have to.

Mods please close this thread. There is some info on this elsewhere and no one seems to care about this thread.

I care, hate the fact only some BlackBerry 10 phones have usb otg... others may be able to shed light. Some might say only hardware limitation for z10, however I am not buying it. Usb port is a usb port ON the device. I understand a charger wire is different because no data is needed.

I know that it isn't supported on the Z10 but when I got my Z30 from VZW last friday OTG worked just fine. I installed 10.2.1.1055 on my Z30 and now it doesn't work. Period. I know I am not the only user with this issue but I am interested in finding out if anyone else has had luck getting it to work with this combo.

I am also on. 1055 but I haven't gotten my USB otg cable yet. When I get it I will test

But yes, this is a hardware thing. The port needed to power a USB device and read it, is different from just a standard port that takes in power and communication.

If you think that's odd, I used to have a cable with a special headphone port that would output sound and video.

I think I remember thurask saying he had issues with it on 1055 as well, I'm sorry I don't know if he ever found a solution.

Yeah, I can't seem to get USB Host working on my Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.1055.

OP, do you know if Miracast works? Mine doesn't see my Miracast box plugged into my TV.

Z10 hardware supports it 100%. I suspect that the deciding factor was the battery as the power required would be counter-productive. If you look at the SoC specs for the Snapdragon S4 Plus it shows the support, but it is also likely that Blackberry may have disabled it.

I don't have anything that supports Miracast but I wish I did so I could try it. I have a new cable coming, maybe that will make a difference (probably not) but at least it will be better quality than the one I have now.

My USB OTG is hit or miss for me. Some drives work and some drives don't. What bothers me the most is I have a 2 year old 2GB USB that doesn't work and then I have a new 32GB USB3.0 that doesn't work either. There's no consistency with compatibility. And what's even more, a new micro SDXC card fails to "download device drivers", yet a standard SDXC card has no troubles at all starting.
