Hey, my friend just got a Z30 but when he send me the usual BlackBerry SMS emoticons, some of them clearly use different code. Such as the black eye emoticon, which renders as ' xx' on the Z30 instead of the emoticon.
Am I the only one?

never noticed that. I have received emoticons from a friend with a PP....i didn't notice any difference....

Same os version, using SMS, not BBM. Both 10.3.2.680. Try it with the black eye emoticon

So anyone else noticed this? It's pretty annoying.
In the regular sms app, try sending a black eye emoticon from z30 to passport.

I am on PassportSQW100-3/10.3.2.2639 also same on my z30. Passport at&t, Z30 Verizon. Works fine but I am not on the same build as you.

Interesting.. how about the shoulder shrug emoticon?
Maybe it has been fixed but now we're on PassportSQW100-1/10.3.2.2339 and it's still here

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I broke my own rule and forgot to subscribe to the thread.

On point, yes on this. Os the shrug works fine between the 30 and Passport.

REviving my old thread.

Same issue even with the new 10.3.3, try sending a HUG emoticon from z30 to passport or vice versa, they dont work.

Can someone try this out? using regular SMS
