This appears to say "Z30 on 26 September" rather than "10.2 on 26 September".

The press release said "next week in the UK and the Middle East", so that part fits.

The news article actually says BlackBerry Z30 is officially announced to become available on September 26 as a handset that has 5-inch screen and running BlackBerry 10.2 operating system. Sorry to disappoint, no one knows when BlackBerry 10.2 will be available on current BlackBerry 10 handsets (Z10, Q10, Q5). Not to mention carrier testing and certification that usually takes quite a long while.

Probably next year for those of us on at&t. But, officially(set-in-stone-date), who knows when it will hit the states. Also, based on everything else (up to now), no one should really be expecting changes....from the norm.

According to a source working for BlackBerry, 10.2 will roll out in Belgium at the end of september - beginning of october.
Belgium doesn't suffer from carrier delays, as none of the carriers bother to test it.

    iOS7 releases... 18th September.
2 days later, the new flagship iPhone5s goes on sale, 20th September.

Let's hope Blackberry is able to imitate some of this where possible, so far they've delivered quite timely to us UK customers.

Next year on AT&T? Do you really think it will be that quick. I heard that the Z30 and 10.2 was coming to AT&T in September 2016.

I got the 10.0 I think it was there when I went back to the stock OS. the question now is if the official 10.2
comes out and you are running a leak will you have to take it off in order for the phone to see you need an update.

As long as you're on a release lower than the 10.2 release version, the OTA update from your carrier will be pushed out.

Not sure if that would work for the 10.2.1 leak, though.

Whenever one considers BlackBerry for anything, always consider solely based on what it is already available right here, right now. Otherwise be sorely disappointed big time (cue the P device).

Would it be wrong of me to be disappointed in BB for not launching 10.2 very soon after the Z30 launches? Holding back on an OS upgrade is not going to encourage me to pickup a Z30, in fact the 10.2 lag is delaying the purchase of my fianc's Q10.

So they just told BlackBerry to do whatever testing they want and release at their own will?

Forgive me for my ignorance but if the Z30 is being released with 10.2, what further carrier testing is there to be done? I assume they tested the OS for the Z30 before release.

Not really, neither of the Belgian carriers test updates cause the systems they all use are more or less the same and they never tinker with the OS to add or remove features so there's no reason to test... I don't know if it's just Belgium or the entire EU...
