I know there's a lot of threads about the security wipe problems with the Z10...

    Here's the situation:
I'm on the latest OS, been getting limited wi-fi connectivity so decided to do a wipe. Its been going 2h now. The thing is I read its supposed to turn off by itself once its done. It has turned off twice by itself now, when I open it back up it goes back to the shredder icon with the blue circle under. Is this normal??

    Any help is appreciated!

Since a wipe basically restores the phone to factory condition, it is probably worth reinstalling the OS. A wipe shouldn't take more than 20-30 mins, dependent on the amount of data you had on the phone.

What do you suggest I do? Pull the battery now? Thanks for the help!

well after the 4th restart, it gives me an error message now...
BlackBerry 10 OS error codes - US
Next, I opened up BBlink to reload the OS....
    At the end I get...
    error A:0x0000008E

this is depressing...seems like I'm out of luck and my phone is dead... this was a second hand phone purchase out of warranty....anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same issue with my Q10. I ended up just waiting for the device to turn itself off again, I then removed the battery and fired up the latest autoloader I had downloaded. Once the "connect to bootrom" window opened I connected my BlackBerry (with battery still out) to the PC with the USB cord and the autoloader started to overwrite the OS. Once that started I put the battery in and let it finish. From there all was good again. I was able to restore from an older backup I had made.

Just remember to make sure BlackBerry link is closed when using the autoloader and once it starts to write the OS to the device just let it do its thing.
