Installed 2 Black Theme bar files today. One for the Calendar and one for the Contacts app. Both not only work for me but as a bonus, my Contacts app now has a working quick search (letters on the right edge) that did not previously work on mine. Verizon 10.2.0.1443 with Debug and Unlocked Runtime. Hooyah!...Black Theme looks awesome and it's easier on my old eyes.

EDIT: Better battery life on Q10-amoled screen
Not much battery life difference on Z10 screen

Z10s don't have AMOLED screens therefore having black in the UI doesn't change a thing.

I have same set up as gear daddy. Can't get the contacts to work but calendar is working fine I've tried everything written in the forums but can't get contacts to work

I like the look of the calendar rather it affects battery life or not

And could actually use more juice depending on the type of screen.

Based on my understanding the AMOLED display on the Q10 uses more/less power to display different colours, more power is needed to display light colours vs dark so the dark theme on the Q10 is more power efficient.

There might be a chance it'll use more energy too. Unfortunately.

But I really like the bright themes. Easy on the eyes.

Hub should be the next one to have a black theme. At least for the list of messages and notification.

You have to open Contacts app. Doesn't work on contacts in the phone app...check there (Contacts App)

In AMOLED displays each LED generates it's own light. To display black, it simply turns the LED off.

The Z10 LCD uses a back light. To display black it combines the red green and blue colors to generate black and block the back lightning. It will actually use more power displaying black than white.

Can you tell me how you can have better battery life?

Are you watching your contacts all day long or the Callender?
Otherwise i cannot get how something that you never open can save battery
