    Why doesn't YouTube play anymore in background in browser? It worked not a while ago. Is this because of the update or the APIs?

    It's not only YouTube. I noticed that videos accessed through file:/// through browser don't play in the background either.
    So the browser update is the issue?

    It has never been a flawless experience, often times mine would stop working and a reboot would fix it. Try that and if it doesn't fix it, then chances are YouTube changed something or the browser update changed something.

    Had a similar problem Monday with fast tube. Making me think Google is changing the apis again. It stopped working in opera until the newest update

    I don't see why when we have Supertube, an awesome fully-featured still-supported native YouTube app which also allows playing in the background.

    Sure, but I don't see why one would recommend an Android app when there's a superb native BB10 app for that.
