10.2.1 is a good place to be while we wait. Happy about the leak crackdown. BlackBerry is still a business and strategy is important. Sometimes strategy conflicts with fan boy wants. I accept that.

Leak lock down helps. So that those bad minded with great talent hackers won't have a full updated BlackBerry 10 os sample to break down and play around with it.

Not only that. So everyone could have the updated at the same time. Some people complain about leaks because they think it is not fair. (they probably dont have the time and skill to load it)

No, everyone won't be updated at the same time. Carriers control updates. Usually the USA is last...

He should allow leaks to flow, it best so blackberry fans will feel and know what's cooking in the pot and not just public shows or seminars with presentation without seeing it real in our devices

No he shouldn't...I have nothing against leaks but they tarnish the image of the company... haven't heard or seen iOS or Android leaking out before their launch dates (correct me if I'm wrong)... a leak may help with testing and feedback, but that's not how the company under Chen functions and we need to respect that.

The leaks had value to most people in this community. The old leak posts were always the most popular. Chen is destroying that value.

Boredom precedes death. BlackBerry missed the memo.

No leaks is good. Good for their competitive advantage. I don't think they really want the competition to know what they are up to. If you want BlackBerry to have more differentiating features then they must keep their secrets. Do not act so selfishly and say leaks are good when it's not.

They should allow beta testing "officially" through the beta zone. Just like android and ios.

We've been so used to leaks that we think it's our birth right. I certainly like the OS to be out for us to test and find bugs but if BlackBerry thinks we should not then I guess we should not be getting it. I'm with whatever is best for BlackBerry.

If carriers are testing something then competition knows what they are doing. Heck, I bet there are whitelisted devices sitting on desks in Cupertino, Mountain View and Redmond.

People are stupid for saying that it's good for BlackBerry.

Microsoft rolls out betas for Windows.
Apple has beta runs for iOS
Doom is entering beta in a few weeks.

Beta software is a beautiful thing. You take the small handful of people who are willing to deal with the quirks and potential issues of a piece of beta software, let them figure out what is problematic, and fix it before you release the software to the masses.

If Chen would set up a beta testing community for BlackBerry 10, none of the stupid issues would sneak past quality control because we would have already dug them up.

Leaks were what kept me on BB10, initially. Fortunately, the OS has now matured to satisfactory levels and I am quite content with what's currently on the table and what is to come in very short order.
