Oddly enough the spelling mistake is there...but the update is very real. I just can't decide if I update or jump to another higher leak as this one has been great

Am on STL 100-2 in India and the carrier is Airtel. I manually checked for an update and got lucky. The OS version I see now is 10.2.0.1791 and the Software release is 10.2.0.424 with Build ID 611200 . Not sure what the Build ID of the previous 1791 leak was. I had the leaked 1767 version earlier.

It appears 1791 is what is being pushed out. You would already have the same version. "Software Version" 424 is what the carriers gave to OS 1791.

BTW, I'm on 1767 and getting no update yet. But mine is locked to AT&T.

I think it's odd that it says that you can't get the update because you are on AT&T, and need to use wifi. I understand the downloading over wifi, but to take a shot at their own service as why you can't do it is kind of odd.

I have an unlocked 100-3 Z10 and have been running the 1791 leak. I just check for updates and AT&T has a 7mb download (carrier specific junk I expect)...So it seems this thread is legit...woo hoo.

So, I thought about this for a minute and it makes perfect sense! Remember BB has started selling unlocked GSM phones on their website. So, it makes sense that BB would push the update to any unlocked phone!

I think this happens for some of the gsmnation bought unlocked Z10s. I bought one a while back and put in a T-mobile SIM card before 10.1 was available for the USA. And it allowed me to download 10.1 after I pushed the software update button.

Yep, my Z10 was purchased at gsmnation.com and I did the update over WiFi yesterday with no SIM.

I had a similar thing happen. I have an unlocked Z10 that I originally purchased from Koodo in Canada, subsidiary of Telus. I have an MTS (Manitoba regional) SIM in the phone and got the update when I hit the button to check but 3 others in my office with MTS purchased phones got no update.

Seems like the update availability is based on the phones origin, not the current SIM or network....

You'll need to manually install a SQN100-4 compatible 10.2 leak, or wait for Sprint to release it.

It is only 95 MB because I already have 10.2 (a slightly earlier leaked version).

Thought winter had come early. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer. Really tempted now on installing the second to latest leak... gotta have my camera, after all. Contest or not, functional camera is on the things-to-have list.

FYI, if you can install a leak first (like 10.2.0.1767), the official update will be much smaller (~ 40 to 50MB) and take much less time.
