BlackBerry hardware iis nothing special, mediocore cameras, last year's (or older) hardware, double typing keyboards...only thing that might be hardware related and it's good is the cellular signal and call stability.

Nope! Never! Rather use Windows phone instead. Or stick with my Z10 and Z30 till they die. I want the slider and intend to get it as soon as Rogers does but only if it's running BB10.

Yup, all you need is to make your apk works and package it as bar (they have tools for this) before put it on BlackBerry World

BBRY won't even consider existing BlackBerry users to make the final decision to release an Android. The vast majority would never switch but we are not the target market. The target is existing android users which a single days sales dwarfs bb10 for the year. They would have both BB10 and an Android phone and suspect if the droid phone took off would eventually abandon BB10. I for one won't pay a subscription fee for the BBRY experience on another platform. I would simply switch and use the native platform interface. If there was a OTC that I would consider. The quarterly results soon to be release will tell us a lot. If BB10 sales are too low no doubt the future for BBRY will be droid which means after being a BBRY user for 12 years i will be looking to a new platform and it won't be droid.

If I can install an APK directly on my phone why does an APK need to be packaged as a Bar. This is what we are saying why not have Android APK's in BBW ?

The A8 is a custom processor that bests just about everything on the market. And the 8mp camera in the iPhone is seriously impressive compared to the Passport's.

I'd agree though, Passport is a thoroughly modern and powerful flagship. Don't forget our 3gb of ram.

I think I will pass if BlackBerry moves to Android. The reason I am staying with BlackBerry is thee hub, the swiping gestures (especially swiping up) and the convenience of writing emails on my Q10.

If I want to give Android OS a chance, I would have done so with a Sony, Samsung or LG long ago.

Switching to Android OS doesn't mean this will increase the sales of BlackBerry hardware either.

I just came back to BlackBerry from android. There is a reason I left android, so no, I wouldn't support a BlackBerry themed android. Since I have a general dislike of apple, I think my last option would be to give windows 10 phone a try after bb

Why are you comparing to iPhone?

Passport is the only exception. They release a few other phones in the last 6 months - all pathetic specs.

Why don't you say anything about the PKB? Cause you can't - they suck. Not to mention their ridiculous idea to place the power button on top instead of on the side.

Oh, I got a few more for you:
Q10 battery was loose fit and when you put the phone on the table it restarts (hundreds of users with this problem). Passport screen lifting up. Q10 speakers dead. Q10 screen brightness never auto adjust

List is endless. I would much rather see a Nokia device with BB10 than seeing a BlackBerry with Android.

I think it's possible if they present themselves as being serious about securing android without relying on BES.

For me that means full control of app permissions. Data should be spoofed if I don't allow a permission so that the apps don't crash.

While installed by default, all google apps and services should be able to be deleted. Blackberry could also release a second android version that doesn't have any google services installed.

We are talking about allowing Android Apps on BlackBerry World. Convert APK to BAR took no time at all, and it's used to properly sign the apk for BlackBerry World

The Passport released in fall of 2014 with a Snapdragon 801. Samsung and LG hit the market with the 801 in spring. By fall 2014, the Note 4, Droid Turbo, and Nexus 6 were releasing, all with Snapdragon 805s.

So while the term "outdated" is a little strong, the Passport is still clearly a step behind. Comparing to the iPhone is silly. The A8 in the iPhone 6/6 Plus will run circles around a Snapdragon 801. Even the iPhone 5S A7 released in late 2013 will trade punches with an 801 in a benchmark comparison.

Again, why not just get rid of the need to convert to a BAR. The version we get via Snap and BBW would be the same. The Amazon solution is not working.

And how long does ICRAP release new hardware/devices?? Until recently, how long for a different IOS. I did a flagship to Flagship comparison which is only fair. My capacitive keyboard on the Passport works perfectly, I can scroll without pressing anything...the whole keyboard is capacitive!! I was camparing a flagship to a flagship...go back to school if you can not grasp fair comparisons.
