Looks like there has been some movement towards Blackberry apps and charging for them (as an ongoing subscription). Good news!

The possible client base for that is any Marshmallow phone, which is much larger than the BB10 user base.

As well, the Android app suite has the advantage that its developers are still employed, as opposed to BlackBerry 10.

Would be interesting to to know if 99 cents ☓ current number of downloads of the suite comes anywhere close to what some here would estimate as the costs for development of the suite using the same cost-based method as before...

The incremental cost here may be small, because they are already developing/maintaining these same apps for the DTEK and Priv.

This is very interesting from a pure ROE/ROI/ROA business perspective. I believe we're just beginning to see the real true longer term strategy of BlackBerry with regards to Fairfax.
