Anyone has an idea how to successfully sync windows7 addressbook and the phone addressbook via bb link?
It will sync with outlook. Just export to Google or other cloud
BlackBerry Since 2006. BB Z10,10.2 Official. Rogers Halifax, NS
not interested in syncing to cloud services, under the contacts/calender tab there is an option to sync with Windows contact app, which will create local *.contact file for each of my contacts.
Its ok I figured it out.
Deleted my bblink account on the phone and on pc reset the sync settings, deleted the paired computers on the phone and connected the phone back to the computer and went through the sync process...it works just fine now.
My contacts folder is full of my 400+ contacts...I can edit them and delete them as I wish and sync it all up to my phone ;)
Best of all no cloud services and privacy concerns
I am having the same problem you had. Can you explain to me how to delete my bblink account on the phone and on pc, how to reset the sync settings, how to delete the paired computers on the phone?
I discovered tonight that removing ampersands (&) from contact names is a big help. I found that nearly all my contacts with ampersands (eg Bob & Lisa) had duplicate addresses and other fields and were generally screwed up.
Note that the sync with Windows contacts is pretty stupid. If you delete a contact on your phone, but not your computer or vice versa, it will restore it and similarly if you rename a contact you will now have two contacts, one with the old name another with the new. I got so frustrated with this, I moved all contacts on my computer, cleaned up contacts on my phone and then synced to the computer. Removing the ampersand can give you duplicates if you don't delete the contact with the ampersand on the other resource.
Hope this helps someone.
