I'm pretty sure Wifi direct is supported. Main purpose is for transferring files after an NFC connection is established like s-beam on Samsung phones.

Near as I can guess.

It's a PnP UDP protocol to let your phone share it's display with smart tvs, dvd players and display boxes.

I.e. U can magically share your display on your TV to show your wife a funny cartoon you found on your phone.

Hopefully my Z doesn't end up in the PlayBook pile. First Miracast, then Wifi direct then usb. I know nothing official until it's, well, official but c'mon, I think BlackBerry owners could use a bit of a boost.

I think it's like screen sharing. So you can share everything you do from games to movies to browsing?

Ok, played around a little with it. Just my music, pictures and videos I took goes on TV wireless. I tried amazon instant video, no option to play on another device. Now I see the difference, so wifi direct performs like if I had a cable connected to my phone, but of course without the wire.

Miracast is the function that works like wireless hdmi. Wifi direct is mostly used as a transfer protocol.

Hi,

I can not find the Wifi direct settings under my Z10 Wifi setting. On a Z30 these setting are under the Wifi menu. I Install 10.2.0.424 which is official release by BlackBerry. I have a Z10 STL 100-2.
