I remember this feature appearing on an earlier Z10 build - will this be making a reappearance soon?

As far as we know, wifi direct will be on the z10, but we know how things can change.

I heard rumors that the hardware on the z10 isn't able to support it, but I'm pretty sure the z10 and q10 have the same hardware inside so idk why it wouldn't be possible. I'm sure it will be included in the official 10.2 release or shortly after as a minor update.

IIRC, Wi-Fi Direct is coming however, Miracast isn't coming to the Z10. Not sure about the Z30.

I think it's Miracast, not Wifi Direct. (aka Wifi to Screen streaming). Then again, why bother looking for that if you're not going to use it immediately. And by the time the tech is widespread, we'd be touting Z30's already.

I think Wifi Direct simply needs API changes on part of the BB10 OS as it's pretty much based on P2P Topology (or Ad-Hoc networking)

I understand it can't support Miracast due to the chipset but not WiFi Direct as well?!? Damn...

Netflix will be all HTML 5 in oktober ,so it's will browser app. you can easly make a browser app but the future is HTML5 so builders only have
to build just one app for all.

Chipset is only like 1 or 2 months older than the Q. Didn't think the hardware was much different from one another (aside from the obvious features)

Apparently the STL100-1 has the hardware capability to support Miracast but because none of the LTE variants can, BlackBerry won't enable the feature on the STL100-1

Anyone can sideload netflix today anyway. People are just too lazy to do it, or no longer have bbry devices, and like to come and rant

Probably you're connected via DLNA. Your Z10 acting as a media server and your TV accessing its contents.

I wish we could get a groundswell of people to email and tweet BlackBerry reps and raise awareness on this issue similar to the dark/light theme and android bar issues.

I think there were talks of the Z10 needing a Dock for OTG so this isn't new. But the Wifi Direct is really surprising.

I'm pretty sure Wifi direct is supported. Main purpose is for transferring files after an NFC connection is established like s-beam on Samsung phones.
