Say if I have wifi and 4g turned on in my q10 does it automatically use the wifi over 4g or is there a setting I must choose for a preference? Obviously if there is an available network I would want to save my data and use wifi.

Part 2 of my question may seem like an obvious one, having both wifi and 4g turned on uses more battery than having either wifi or 4g turned on right?

    Thanks!

That's odd. Why do I have to turn data services off in order for my Z10 to use the wi-fi at home. Have to do this every time and assumed it's the way it works. My girls do the same with their iPhones.

I've never experienced that with either the q10 or iphone if wifi is on and the network is saved as soon as it pick up the network it works

Oh it connects to wi-fi at the same time absolutely. But the data comes over gsm unless I switch off data services. As above, thought this was normal behaviour and am surprised to read that it shouldn't work like that. Hmm.

100%. When using speedtest.net it shows who I'm connected with. Playing with wi-fi on/off combos it's easy to determine what settings have what effect. It was speedtest that highlighted this to me in the first place.

It wouldn't surprise me that our providers want us to exceed our data limits
