    That's a good thread. Thanks.

I tried a reset on my router and it seems to be working better now. Also I may try your trick with aluminium. Perhaps an aluminium "assiette de tarte"? Pie tin?

But for now it looks much better so, on verra je suppose. Merci encore

Back to constant drops. Location does not seem to matter. Suppose it could be a bug in the leak I am using. On official latest OS I did not have much trouble at all.

-69 dBm. This is from 12 feet away albeit in another room
Suppose it is time to make a signal booster.
Still, quite certain signal strength alone is not the issue. Other devices both my own and others, have no issues.

Been reading about this for months and been experiencing the same issues.

But because of another issue regarding our wi-fi at home, I got a new router.

Behold, BlackBerry connects to the wi-fi no problem now.
    No more issues !!!!

I wonder if there is an incompatibility with older routers - mine was a 4 year old DLink.

    Just thought I would share.

I'm inclined to agree with you. That's probably it. Mine is about that old. However, as no other device, including 3 or 4 computers, 2 tablets & a half dozen smartphones (none of which are BlackBerry) have a problem with the router... Well, I refuse to purchase a replacement for a perfectly functioning device, for only one other device.

The following - because I am seeking a resolution - is also posted in another WiFi problem thread. I had no problems for many months. But, since the last 2 updates, Wi-Fi problems are back:

As of 02 June, 2015, I am running 10.3.2.680 on my direct from BlackBerry Z30.

WiFi problem has returned, & continues. Only device around that has it though. Happens even at good signal strength. See below (happened @ -14 dBm and @ -46)..

Sorry. But this is a BlackBerry problem. Out of a dozen devices on the premises only my BlackBerry does this with consistency. Many times a day.

Will not replace a working router for one device out of a dozen. When I explained what's going on to a mechanically minded friend, he said, "That would be like replacing a vehicle for one bad tire.."

So if I followed the log, bottom to top, I don't know why there is a reauth but I can speculate.

As we tested some times ago, you have no issue while connected by WEP. The problem lies with the WPA_SUPPLICANT. We don't see all the WPA states in the log, but as far as I can tell, there can be an issue with the handshake. And one explanation I can give is that your router, with the current firmware, may use an old algorithm in the list available for the handshake step. Old enough for BB10 to try to re-authorize (reauth) it, as it's a security concern.

Either that, or there is an issue with the auth cache on your version of BB10.

    I see 4 solutions for you :
    1. Updating your router with the last firmware can solve your problem right away
    2. Using WEP instead of WPA as you live in a quiet location will solve your issue now
    3. Waiting for BlackBerry to correct a potential issue with their stack but... How long ?
    4. Changing your router will also solve your issue now

Thanks so much Josh. For all your kindness & help.

As I stated on another forum, replacing the router when only one out of a dozen machines has a problem, was not an option I wanted to follow. As a mechanic friend said, "Like replacing the vehicle for one bad wheel."

En tout cas. It turns out that the solution was simple. My Z30 was dropping connection many times an hour. But since my fix it hasn't dropped once in 24 hours.

I changed the setting on the router. From "G Only" to "B/G Mixed Mode." That's it. It worked right away and has not dropped once regardless of the dBm reading, et cetera et cetera.

Je te remercie encore, mon vieux. Have a good weekend.

    Eric

Argh. Am back here. Since upgrade to10.3.2.2639 have been having wifi drops again. Will be trying the pie plate technique. Once again though, only my BlackBerry. My favourite has just this one flaw but it's an annoying one.

Argh. That sounds frustrating. Any chance you could update to 10.3.2? Not even sure that would help. My problem returned after update.

Just got home from work and as I walked into the house my PP picked up the WiFi like normal.... no issue... don't know what caused it as it has fixed itself

Aluminium pie tins under -- and beside -- router, have helped tremendously. Almost never drops now. Odd though. I have several other phones & devices. None of which have ever had a drop. This is the only BlackBerry & the only one that drops. Still, it's like a classic Volvo, and I cannot help but love it.
