Passport is now the only BB phone that supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac. But the frontier has expanded again already into gigabits per second.

    Samsung develops 60GHz Wi-Fi technology

Will this affect BB roadmap ?

Probably two years out. So eventually. Probably already in discussions.

Even though 802.11ac still has the new car smell, I've heard 802.11ad has some limitations: What?s next for Wi-Fi? A second wave of 802.11ac devices, and then: 802.11ax | PCWorld

802.11ad should be good for WiFi Direct or anything else that's line of sight + high bandwidth.

It'll still be a few years before 802.11ad can be commercialized and adopted as standard. It's not even out yet, so I don't think it'll affect BlackBerry's road map.
