For some... it's just how they are suppose to work, they run within the runtime, in the background. What Apps are your problem?
BB10 would have greatly benefited from some of the newer solutions that Marshmallow brought in power conservation.
To help keep these android apps closed on your BB10 device, download the app Greenify from apkpure or similar. For most apps (but not all) greenify will keep your android app from periodically waking up. Just understand, that you will have to kill the app from the BB10 device monitor or from and android task killer before closing/x'ing out the app window on your BB10 device. This method with Greenify working should keep the app permenently closed in most situations until you open the app again. Ask me if you run into any questions.
Thanks a lot for your comments!

I understand your point with a powersaving app like Greenify. But if Greenify closes the apps only until I open the app again, I don't need Greenify.
If you shutdown an Android app with the BB10 monitor, you get the same result: it stays closed until you open the app again.
I use taskmanager to see which are running and close. It's an android app and works well
Also after wiping my phone and starting over I did not install Cobalts Google Play Store cause it also would pop up depending on what app was activated. Using Aptoide now and Taskmanager and very happy with it.

I just tried Taskmanager: if I want to close an app, I get a notification 'this app doesn't support closing by third party apps'. Then I have to push two buttons for closing an app.
For me it's still the fastest way to use BB10 monitor. I'm able to see if a app consums to much resources and if it's still open. Then it needs just one move and it's closed.
Is that the proper name, BB10 Monitor? Where did you get it? I can't find it to try
Lol or do you mean device monitor?

Yes, I don't know the names exactly - just the BB10 immanent app monitoring system.
There you can choose an app an push the close button and that's it: it stays closed until you restart it.
Seems to me there are the same number of steps but I don't have to sift through the apps to determine which ones are Android and running in the background. I prefer Taskmanager in that regard.

I put a shortcut to the monitor on homescreen with the easy home app. So I just have to click it and I see all the apps. I have just 3 apps that re-start after shutdown, so I don't need an overview over all Android apps. I need three hits and the app is closed. Of course, if you don't know which app is Android and re-starts, your way is better.
I know which are Android that's not the problem here. I prefer seeing which Android apps are actually running opposed to the percentages of what it has used up or how much memory. I don't want o micro-manage my phone to the extent you are but if it works for you then that is great.
Yes then there are a couple more taps I have to make to get the job done but I still prefer Taskmanager.

Try Ghost Commander.
