Don't go for the m8, I mean you will definitely miss the keyboard, hub, toast notifs etc! And time shift will be missed!
after 10.3 update, you will get a much better ui etc and also the android runtime will be improved and literally all the apps will. Work! So don't go for the m8

No matter what our opinions are, it won't truly help you. You're the one who has to use your phone. Me personally, BB has maybe 2 phone models left with me as a user of a phone. I have a Z10, I love it; however, lately... it's been doing some things that just make me exhale/and face palm. Some of my apps are crashing, mainly blaq; which I use the most. The contacts sometimes does this thing where it wont populate (in fact I can't even go to contact from the calls menu, I have to open contacts separately from the icon.) I'm looking forward to 10.3 - hopefully that changes things.

Apps aren't really that big a deal for me. I have everything I need. Android apps don't bother me either.

Depending on how 10.3 goes. I really want the Z30, heard it's a lot better. However, I can't justify paying for another phone right now (outright). I'll hold on at least until the new flagship touchscreen comes out; after that... we'll see.

(Holding on to my shares tho)

I've got to step in here

    Doesn't shine?!

BB10 shines in so many ways! No, not in specs, but the amount of amazing, integrated features that come with a BB10 device out-of-the-box are more than just a few.

Every operating system sincerely lacks a functional file manager. Yet, we have one that not only functions, but let's you zip things, integrates cloud storages, and runs Remote Access to your desktop. That's four different third-party apps on any other device. And while Ghost Manager (what you'll probably end up downloading on your M8) may be functional, it is a visual disaster. SHINE

Did I already mention Remote Access? Good. I'll do it again because it kicks *** sorts of booty. I haven't opened my laptop in weeks, yet I torrent on it remotely and push the content to my phone wirelessly thanks to Remote Access. I edit documents on the fly. Hell, last week I needed to update an Excel document on my PC in Victoria, and I did... yet I was in Calgary. no clouds. No third parties. Direct, remote, access. SHINE

The keyboard! And I'm talking virtual keyboard here. There is NO other virtual keyboard on any other device straight out of the box that even rivals this one. Maybe some third party keyboards might give it a run for its money, but I'd be willing to see them go head to head and put money on it. Every android keyboard lags like trying to game in dialup. SHINE

The HUB, sure. That's an obvious one. But the PRIORITY HUB?! An amazing feature that saves me from riffleing through my emails and texts and BBMs to find what matters most to me. Maybe you haven't explored it, but the customised rule maker for priority HUB? The coolest thing since the ice age. Check it out. SHINE

While android has quick settings (as does iOS now, and as will Windows Phone 8.1), does anyone else's quick settings offer more than just an on/off switch? With ours we get to use the on off switch (touching the icon) OR go directly into the correct settings menu by tapping the words. When another OS wants to go to the settings for display or for networks or for bluetooth, it's like 3 menus deep once you get into the settings app. For us? One swipe down, tap "Bluetooth" or "Networks" or whatever you want. SHINE

Speaking of quick things. Instant Action replies! What? I can be leaving Fieldrunners 2, get a text, and respond to it without leaving the game?! SHINE

Attachments view in the HUB. SHINE

Gestures throughout the system, including the sexy keyboard gestures. SHINE

The NFC Tag programming app. SHINE

Picture Password: unequaled and ridiculously cool. SHINE

    Peek. SHINE

BBM Video with Screen Share. SHINE

The fact that BBM Natural Sound is not a gimmick, but actually sounds way way better than any other voice calling feature on any platform (FaceTime included. Believe me, I've sat the two down side by side and tested) SHINE.

I'm all for different strokes for different folks. M8 has beautifully designed hardware. Can't argue that. But if you prefer BlinkFeed (bloatware), and Zoe (a hilarious, yet very annoying gimmick), and over-hyped speakers (the Z30 and M8 are highly comparable, since I've sat the two down side by side and blasted some DatsiK to test) are your thing then go for it.

But, if you switch for whatever reason, don't say it's because BB10 does shine. The MoFo shines brighter than a disco ball circa 1970.

BB 10 Definately shines . The OS is simply amazing .

Ive left BB because the step between OS7 and OS10 took too long for me . I learned 1 important thing during my absence . The competition OSs are mostly hypes and marketing blabla . The only place where Blackberry doesnt shine is in their marketing department .

My Note 2 has sat in a drawer ever since I got my Q10 (I chop and change between this and my Z depending on what I need) I was a complete android advocate for several years using custom ROMs, root hacks and all sorts of customisations. My bb10 devices do everything I wanted from android out of the box, no messing. Now instead of constantly customising my phone to make it work the way I like I can just use bb10 and it's very close to ideal for me. There's so much bb10 can do that just doesn't work anywhere near as well on android the hub in particular is a fantastic tool and multitasking on android has always felt like a cludge.

I do love android you can do a lot with it, it has tons of cool bells and whistles and you can customise it to virtually anything. Unfortunately these things can make using android an inconsistent experience, replacement lockscreens never seem to work properly for instance and many apps refuse to work with root.

I find bb10 to be a much better experience for me. I do feel like a power user and use find BlackBerry a multitasking, messaging powerhouse. With bb10 the OS is simple but after a while you learn the quirks of the platform that let you work smarter than any other mobile OS. The more I use my phone the more tricks I discover, and because I am not constantly changing things you can incorporate these tricks into your workflow. I still use a lot of android apps on my device and found snap to be the revelation that has, for the most part, stopped me missing my droid. Again, this is just my opinion. If you love apps, customisation and bells and whistles BlackBerry can't compete with android but if you want an amazing tool for communication, browsing and getting things done bb10 is the best. I feel like I engage with the entire device and OS on a BlackBerry and everything is part of that integrated experience, on android I felt like the os was an app launcher and settings menu and you work on an app by app basis. BlackBerry FTW!

I was up all night tossing and turning because I forgot to mention the browser.

Oh! The browser. With a lame name like that you wouldn't expect much more than the "internet" found on android devices. But, in fact, it is much much more. Not only is it the blazing-est fastest mobile browser by a long shot tests have been done and it wins), it can run every god darned webpage out there. I've looked at a lot of porn on this Z30 and have yet to find a page that doesn't work, a plug in required that it doesn't have, or a video that doesn't load. And to add to the candy fest that us the browser: it offers private browsing so that I don't have to bother clearing history or whatnot after. Infinite tabs. Desktop browsing mode. And speed. This already shines. But add the HDMI cable and a great TV watching website and eff me if I ever pay for cable again. GLOWING
