As the title says, why is my Q10 smoother than the Z10 especially when maximizing and minimizing active frames? Or just simply swiping between panes and screens?

All devices are running the same OS and the Z10s even have a clean install. The Z10s clearly display a "jitter" when maximizing and minimizing.

I'd expect my daily driver (Q10) to be less smooth than my secondary phone (Z10) with all the downloads and usage.

    Some points to consider:

The Q10 has a smaller display, that ='s smaller resolution, which ='s less processing power needed for the display.
The display types are also different, the Z10 uses an LCD Display where the Q10 uses an AMOLED display. Not sure if this makes a difference to the smoothness of the overall experience. Maybe someone else can weigh in on this one?

Compared to the Z10, the Q10 has a larger battery, the AMOLED display also helps keep battery drain to a minimum compared to the LCD Display, this could mean the Processor/Graphics Processor has more power going to it to allow for smoother operation.

Just some thoughts, but don't take my word as gospel.

IMHO it's because of screen resolution. Hardware on both device's are identical. But the screen of z10 has larger resolution and need more power from gpu when operating.

Yeah I thought the screen would be the culprit. Regardless, it's not appealing at all!

My wife's Q is no more smooth than my Z. As a matter of fact my Z10 is buttery smooth. Always has been

Perhaps there is some other underlying issue with your Z

I'm not sure really, it wasn't just my Z but my friends that I recently setup as well. My Z is an STL100-2 and there's a glaring difference when I use both. It's not slower by any means, just that the animations aren't really smooth, even after clean installs!

If your running 10.2, take a peek at the app manager under the main settings and see if one device is running more than the other.
