Because of people who just want to get a few extra clicks with a shocking headline like this:

    Why I dislike Seeking Alpha-img_00001934.png

And then when the market opens real life looks like this:

    Why I dislike Seeking Alpha-img_00001933.png

BlackBerry is actually up not down like the headline.

When that email was sent, premarket was down the 6%. And premarket is more volatile than normal markets.

Yes I know that, thanks. It's the author that perhaps doesn't, or he does and thinks we don't.

Seeking Alpha is barely a step up from Motley Fool in terms of investment advice. With the amount of sloppy analysis coming from the investment houses themselves looking at a third party site where there's even less access to information is nothing more than a fool's errand.

The main reason to dislike them is because seemingly almost any bonehead can submit articles to them.

They don't seem to care as long as you generate clicks.

Boneheads just as good picking stocks than real analysts.

There a was research done a few months back which showed a monkey randomly picking stocks fared better than most hedge funds.

The problem is most analysts are self proclaimed or don't really analyze anything these days. And they take a biases approach to analysis.

Analysis can be great but only when the person doing the work gives a darn about the quality and objectivity . And that's rare.
