This is something that could be huge. Multi person video chat. Am I dreaming?

That would be huge if it can be as flawless and BBM video is right now. Imagine screen share and multi person video at the same time.

I sent Jeff Gateway about this and told him to imagine having the ability to video chat with like 6 people and their faces shows as six frames just like active frames boxes.

He liked the idea but he said that first bbm voice and video needs to come out on other platforms. I also mentioned about integrating BlackBerry keyboard within bbm for other platforms so people can see how cool it is.

That's pretty cool, and it should give you the option to either show everyone at once in small or switch to whoever is talking or you can select, sort of like in hangouts. Also, orientation, it should work landscape flawlessly, now, it's terrible.

While not available in bbm currently as you all know, there is actually a native BlackBerry App that does allow multi person video chat..

Check out FaceFlow Video Chat in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/21911918

Would be a differentiator, I think.

Anything that provides an alternative to Hangouts with regards to multi-person videochat is good IMHO.

Tried it when it came out, downright terrible. Also, if I'm not mistaken, it's not free anymore.

Admittedly I've never used it, so I can't say one way or the other. The feature set looks cool.. but I don't know anyone else who has it installed so I've never tested it.

BBM is not flawless for me, even on WiFi (my home connection is capable of 35 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up, and has negligible packet loses). After some testing, the culprit seems to the Z10 not being powerful enough to handle the video chat as chatting with the same person on my PlayBook was flawless (oddly enough, he has a Z10).

If the focus is enterprise then this would be a great idea for conference calls.

Who's to say BBM Is not working on this?

BBM is a business division for BlackBerry. It's not just a BlackBerry proprietary massaging app. BBM is looking to maximize it's potential, gain relevance, and monetize.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in a few BlackBerry and BBM meetings.
