    Hopefully someone posts with a way to remove it. Luckily for me i don't have that many skype contacts so it didn't take me long to merge the contact links

    Going to assume the same as Facebook and others. In contacts swipe down, click settings and then select of for skype.

    Skype is not listed in the contact settings, this is also pissing me right off as well as I have a ton of skype contacts and my contact list is now FUBAR

    You can change it within the Skype settings. You need to make sure that Sync None is selected for Contacts.
