Why can't we share phone numbers to the phone app?

Wouldn't it be easy to highlight some phone number and hit share to phone to call it?

I find that I have to copy-paste too often in this regard.

Share it from where? Websites? If websites, blame the web admin for not using proper coding. Those who use proper coding allow you to simply press on the phone number and it will call automatically.

Not to mention that the OS detects phone numbers in emails, texts, etc. and all you have to do is touch it to dial. In some cases, you long press it and an overflow menu opens with the option to call, text, or add to contacts. Methinks you need to play around with your phone more.

I would consider myself a power user, and I am fully aware of the OS's ability to recognize numbers in most text. Also, as an amateur Web designer, I also know how to program the href properly.

Nonetheless, there are several times in usually in websites, where the href tel is not programmed.

Browsers are not the only place this happens. Non-standard notation in text messages and emails are also missed by the OS.

It would be quite simple to implement.
