I don't think it failed, it just got lost in a competitive market due to better smart phone options...

Three reasons come to my mind: 1) Not many apps. That includes games, social media etc 2) BlackBerry should make compatible android apps from the beginning of bb10 and advertise it also. 3) The quality of many apps was not good. I know that includes also ios and android but in BlackBerry store were more in percentage. I am a BlackBerry fanatic using till now passport. And I will remain with it. But for BlackBerry the turn to android was a right move thinking from company's eye of view.

Bad marketing, comparatively low hardware specifications, Aesthetics, bulky and definitely app gap

But still os is superior <3

Simple answer: BB 10's LCD screens are all small for entertainment damaging to eye sights as compared to present competitors' big screens. What are special features are all now found in other mades. BBM is getting hopeless and was popular when other social messaging media yet to thrust into the market. The only good about BB is the keyboard and its e mail app.

There were so many reasons including developers interest, promotion, public interest (people were curious to try something new instead of buying still the same) and BlackBerry itself...
You'd better go on. You'll hardly end with a conclusion.

I think a few major ones. They use a lot of both apple's and google's software. Adobe is another one. A good move for capabilities and functionality but in the heart of competition and enterprise thats not a good decision. It was finished too quickly to bring in revenue. The way the microkernel is designed is pretty great, still ahead of its time.
