I'm getting this as well. Started ever since the last update which seemingly has been throwing notifications at me left right and center.

Had those with yahoo prior to updating OS.. after updating it was Blaq notifications and only solution for that was a device factory reset and reload everything from start.

Have you tried deleting the account and adding it again?

Also, make sure Google hasn't changed anything on their end. When I was on Android I know there was talk about the service eventually fading out for Hangouts.

I have had this issue when a I do a backup, update and restore installing a leaked OS. Did a clean install this time and haven't had the issue yet.

You need to update your account password for Google Talk.
Delete and reinstall Google Talk (the app, not just your account).

I guess it's probably because I have enabled two step verification and I have to use the one time password. And the recent os update meant, I need to create a new one time password.

Sorry to revive an older thread but I'm having this same issue. Randomly Google Talk pops up I need to update my password. I open Google Talk and I'm logged in and it's working fine. Did uninstalling Google Talk and reinstalling it work for you? Or anyone?
