I'm finding that the operating system keeps freezing with apps and the system itself. Hasn't run smoothly since 10.2.1 which is frustrating. Has anyone else had issues like this and what was the resolution for the fix?

Oh and it's a z30 sta 100-5
Posted via CB10
Yeah it is laggy

Same issue here

Yes, very laggy when multiple apps are open (instagram, airbnb, etc) and the phone app is SUPER slow.
I have a call forwarding service for my apartment where the buzzer will ring two phones. My iPhone friends answer the call before it even shows up on my phone.
I have a Z30.
Get your **** together BlackBerry!

I have not had the problem on my Z10 STL 100-4. In fact, it is smoother and faster than 10.2, on my phone. Is it a Z30 problem?
Software release 10.3.1.1865 is not freezing and lagging all the time for me and I also have a Z30, STA100-5. 1865 is actually faster than the previous release. Go figure!
I don't know your software situation, but I only have one Android app on my device and wonder if that has anything to do with the difference in performance.
My feeling has always been, the more Android apps you have on your phone, the more performance problems you will encounter, I felt that way even when I was using an Android device.
I have 10.3.1.2582 and in is a disaster. Phone has frozen 3 times in last ten minutes and can freeze for a whole minute. I have a Z30 -5

My Z10 with the 10.3.1.1779 update is laggy for both email accounts now. It's weird and a bit annoying. I keep waiting for it to go away but it isn't. It's also laggy when I'm editing pics in my camera album. That may be because I have about 400 pics there though.

My Classic runs with 10.3.1.2744 and I have another Passport on the same OS. They both work greatly. Maybe you will consider a reload?

Same issue, with the same phone

Same issue here, we should look for a solution guys...

My Passport has become so damn frustrating to use. I get constant lags and more so constant freezes.
I never had any of those issues on the previous OS versions and I never noticed how common it has become after the OS update. This is completely unacceptable. The OS should be getting progressively better and so far on the Passport it's been getting worse.
Usually what happens is I'm in an app (mainly Android apps, but also happens on other apps) and I'm going about my business and then suddenly the app freezes. I proceed to minimize the app and every single time, when I tap the x button to close the culprit app, the phone freeze comes and I can't use my phone for 30-90 seconds. Sometimes it takes even longer but eventually the phone sorts itself out.
I really don't want BlackBerry to add any more features to the OS, but please for the love of god fix the lags and freezing in this OS!
All you need is a security wipe and start with a fresh 10.3.1.xxx...

I don't have any issues with lagging or freezing either.
Z10STL100-3/10.3.1.2708 SR 10.3.1.1865
Oh i had so much issues with 10.3.1 heck even 10.3.2 does not run smooth on full touch, bigger screen phones.
Scrolling with my Q10 goes smooth. With a Z10 it is horrible...
App pages just hang...

You don't even need to go full touch. My Q10 runs circles around my Passport in the smoothness department and dare I say speed.
I've mentioned this point before (Q10 vs. Z10) and I was told that larger screens require more processing power and the whole LCD versus amoled topic came up.
The Passport uses an LCD and has a massive screen and this is why I presume it's no where near as smooth as my Q10.
My brother has an iPhone 6 and a Samsung S6 edge and to be completely honest those two devices are so much smoother than my Passport. I understand BB10 is a new OS but people don't care and obviously buy what they see is best. BlackBerry is seriously lacking in the department and if you believe otherwise you are in total denial.

But then why did i have much of this issues on myvz30(amoled).
Sold it because of that :)

This exactly with my Z30

Same here, need a fix soon because the wait is long when I can't use my phone for 30-90 secs..
Posted via CB10
That's one of the problems I had with it.
Went back to 10.2.1.

Z30 STA100-5 from ShopBlackBerry, i.e. factory unlocked
Software Release 10.3.1.1784
OS Version 10.3.1.2582
Radio Version 10.3.1.2583
Stable and fine for me. OP, maybe revert to something more stable?
You do realize your speculation is just that, speculation... based on very limited understanding. The Passport uses a screen that has *4* times the resolution of the Q10. That's 4 times. That's one possible reason for a speed difference *but* the CPU and GPU in the Passport are faster too, so it may well compensate for that. The actual physical screen size has nothing to do with it. For example, a Passport with the same resolution as the Q10 will be faster than the Q10.
And I'm sure you do realize I never tried passing it as a fact? This is what forum members mentioned and it's not something that I came up with.
My initial comparison when I asked that question on the forums back then was comparing the Z10 and Q10, because I have both and the Q10 is significantly smoother. So while the hardware on the Passport is obviously superior to those of the Q10 it's still obvious that they're not enough? Or the code is not optimised for Passport.

Take a look at storage on your device monitor guys. I'm sure it's the same issue for all of us.
Instead of system taking up 2 gigs on your phone, most are showing upwards of 8-13 gigs. It's because of the Runtime on 10.3.1
If you look at the properties on the specific android file it will show its size. My Z10 is at an astonishing 53 gigs just in the Android file.
Take a look guys.
