I use these too. I've since customized and set DDG as my startpage though.

I use Do Be Evil Google when DDG isn't satisfactory (even though it's based on Google).

Quackquackgo...been using it for a quite some time now. Clean results display, image search does not clutter up the display. And ofcourse no tracking

I love duckduckgo, for the instant categories at the top, the easy settings and advanced options (like bangs).

It has gotten much better recently and offers a pretty decent list of results compared to the "big three".

Their results are from Yandex, which is huge in Russia.

How do you change your default search provider? When I look in Search options, the only one I have listed is Google. Has my carrier limited my choices when it comes to Search? How can I type from my Q10's home screen, then click the browser icon to render Bing, Yahoo, or DDG results?

    ^^^^^^^^

    If that fails
Browser > settings > display > reset search engines

Main settings > BlackBerry assistant > device search settings > extended (tab)

I'll let you in on a secret if you promise to keep it between me and you, next time you're there, if you get you a mickey mouse, you can click the other "D" in "dead" which is a secret portal to two additional sites, one of which has two links, one to the beginning of the internet. Once you've been there AND done that, you've then experienced the WWL (World Wide Loop) and found the place where a certain search engine buried itself in leaves to prove the wind does blow when no one is there thereby exposing the alternate meaning of life.

The other link goes to Chucky Cheese and disables the back button on your browser... Good luck...

Glad to see that I'm not alone with DDG and that a lot of people think that google has become so big that now is "evil". They use you, manipulate you, and spy you with Chrome, (the ****ty) hangouts and Android. No company should the power to decide "what's best for me"

Excuse my ignorance, but where/how can you change your default search provider?

For me, I use Bing. I too prefer it's layout compared to Google and Yahoo.
