I am curious to see who has their phone set to default to Google, Bing, Yahoo!, etc... and why?
I, personally, have my Passport default to Bing because I prefer the results and layout more than Google or yahoo.

DuckDuckGo because less evil than Google lol.
google, consistently gives me the results I expect and want
DuckDuckGo because I value the idea of privacy.

Just changed it to duckduckgo because I read about it in this topic. Had never heard of it, but two out of four here (both because of the privacy settings) make it worth exploring and testing ;-)

Google but I use bing if I want to look a picture. Image search is way better.
duck duck go...is best most private...google too intrusive....i use duck duck go on all my devices...
Google, because they know so much about me that it only shows me results that fit my world view and thus fulfills my need of self-assurance.
Plus I use gmail so it's a lost cause.

DDG has another advantage. The bangs function allows almost any search engine to be accessed via DDG. I set that and immediately use a bang to search on another.
Want to search Google Images? Add !gi at the end. YouTube? !yt, heck even there's !bimages.
Startpage.com and duckduckgo

Google, however if I'm looking for things such as streaming / torrent sites I tend to use bing or duckduckgo as Google blocks a lot them from showing up in the search

I don't search because I know where everything is.
I memorized an internet map years ago so I know it from one end to the other. Every now and then, when I get bored, I surf out to the end of the internet just to make sure it hasn't moved...
And be able to manipulate you the way that you won't even feel it.
Hint: $ or € or now a real currency £
I have mine set to Bing as I prefer it over Google.
Duckduckgo because of the privacy and personally I love the way it gives you the most likely thing that you are searching for at the top. I know Google has the same (for example when you are searching for a famous person or a company) but DuckDuckGo has this for almost anything and you can switch the categories like definition or meaning or Q&A.

Bing. Got away from Google when I got my Z10 and found that Bing will pay me.

On my personal devices it's duckduckgo. On my work stuff, for now, it's Bing. Maybe once a month I'll use Google if I can't find what I'm looking for on ddg or bing.

IxQuick the original Startpage.
Why is because it is not google.
Passported from my consciousness to yours .
I like this. Never heard of DDG

Sorry for asking, where on the passport settings can I change default search engine and start screen?
Thanks... on my laptop I know..

I use DDG. Instant answers are awesome. Bangs are awesome. Cloud save settings is awesome.
It also supports parameters like site:crackberry.com
(tip: if you tap the site icon, it will search for results from that website)
I use Google and bing etc. But I use them via bangs.
Try out my settings here
https://duckduckgo.com/?kae=d&ks=l&k...kv=1&kad=en_US
Go to a website like www.duckduckgo.com
Open the menu > add search
To change the default search engine, start typing in the browser. At the top right, the buttons icon will show the current search provider. Tap that to change default search provider
For the home page, browser > settings > display > the dropbox at the very top

Indeed!
Yes, sometimes I become so dejected when I reach the end of the Internet. Sigh...

I thought we were all reassured by our helicopter parents just how "special" we are!
(I got a tangerine/beige ribbon for coming in 11th in some thing or the other.)
