Works great on passport too. Set it to auto and it chooses the correct colour itself within apps! I now like the white theme again! Last time I liked the white theme was on 10.0 lol!

This is y some like android so much..the fact it can be customized...I don't see how having other color option makes it a circus do break it down for me bra!!!!

Black, white and grey are standard colours. Everything else just looks cheap (Oh hey, Android), tacky and childish as far as keyboards go.

I believe it's the colour scheme of the app - light themed apps will default to the white keyboard, and dark themed apps default to the black one. Not sure how consistently this works in third-party apps, however.

Any device with a virtual keyboard (Passport's 4th-row included) should get this option. I have it on 10.3.1.938 on my Z30, so anything after that should also include it.
