I've just recently switched to a new Z10 (from previous Z10), and also updated to OS 10.2.1.

In the process, my option to perform a web search as part of the standard BB search function has gone missing. Previously, when performing a search, it would populate with option to search the web via Bing, Google, etc. Those options no longer exist... how do I get them back? I did nothing special to have them in the first place, so not sure why I no longer have those options.

In the Search app you can swipe down from the top and select settings. You'll find the Web Search options under Extended. You can select what you want to use from there.

Thanks... but the web search options are no longer there for me. That is the root of my question. I'm aware of the settings menu but Web search options like Google or Bing are no longer there.

I have the same issue and I used the Google search very often. I need this back ASAP. 10.2.1 is great, but I'm not sure it's worth trading quick search options. Q10 + quick search = instant knowledge.

That's quite weird as they should be there by default. Could it perhaps be carrier related?

It's not there. And it has to do with the update. Both of my Z10's updated to 10.2.1 no longer have access to Web searches under the search function.

And I'm obviously not the only one affected, so it's odd this hasn't been addressed further.

OP since today my web searches are gone! Nada. Nothing. I'm using 10.2.1 since a long time.

If you really need it and all else fails, you could reload the OS with BlackBerry Link and see if it helps. I can't for the life of me imagine why they would disappear unless it's carrier related. Have you tried a simple reboot with the volume buttons?

When I try to use the search option at the bottom of the home screen I also don't have the option of Google, Bing, etc. since the 10.2.1 update. I have been opening the browser and opening a new tab, which will bring up Google search.

I have no idea why that worked, but it did. Initially parental controls were off... but toggling them on and then off again now brings all the search functionality back for me.
