I'm a bit confused here, how do I buy songs on the blackberry passport? I checked the amazon app store but that was a dead end. Am I missing something here? I tried the search feature on the forums and couldn't find any threads.

Just buy them anywhere you like and transfer them to your passport using wifi or USB.
Amazon has a separate app for music.

That's the thing, I want to buy the songs directly on my passport. Does blackberry music longer exist? What app are you referring too btw.

I have the amazon app store. There's no way to buy music through it, correct me if I'm wrong. Is there an actual app within BlackBerry world or amazon app store that allows me to purchase songs? (the name of the app at least)

Download 7 digital . I think you can buy mp3 in there
?
Amazon Music store is called Amazon Prime music or something like that. They recently changed the name. You can download from Amazon App store.

This is a good way to do it. BlackBerry 's music store was powered by 7 Digital when it was still around. Now there is a 7 Digital app in BlackBerry World that you're able to use.

The reviews of the 7 Digital app are not exactly encouraging.

I use the Amazon Music app, and 7 digital. It sucks not having a native store using Cascades though.

People pay for mp3 music now? Strange.....
Try mp3skull.com and download free

Yes, some of us do look to pay for music. I know... crazy...
I go to the 7 digital Web site and download them from the browser.
Works great.
I'm hoping the amazon music app improves when 10.3.1 comes. If not will stick with 7, never had a problem there.

BlackBerry has reached a new agreement with 7digital for music sales, and what I hope that means is that the music section of BlackBerry World will be returning.
7digital isn't a bad music store. It's got pretty much the same selection as iTunes, and can stream music you've purchased in the past but don't have downloaded to the phone.
The trouble with Amazon is that they only sell music in the US and UK.
To me, it seems the Amazon Music app still kind of sucks on 10.3.1. I've had issues with downloading an album, where some tracks just seem to get stuck. Also, I didn't see an option to have it download to SD card, so I had to move the files in the file manager from the local storage to SD where I wanted it. I haven't used 7Digital on 10.3.1 to buy anything, so I don't know how the experience compares. I know that having 7digital integrated in BB World was convenient and worked great, so I do miss that.
7digital Website from phone's browser: I find this option quicker than the buggy and slow 7digital Android port app from BlackBerry Appworld.

I know the OP is looking for an on-phone solution, but am I the only one who still uses a desktop PC first? I buy, download and archive all my music before putting it on my Blackberry., just in case. Should something terrible happen, I still have all my songs.

Thank you for mentioning it, I was starting to feel alone too.
Personally, I just buy music on my laptop from iTunes or any other music store and then copy them to my BlackBerry via the USB cable.
Honestly it's not hard at all. Plus, think about it. If you purchase songs on you phone then you will have to copy them across to your PC anyway for a back up...
