Been trying to figure out this issue with sharing contacts, which seems to have been affecting folks on 10.3.1.xxxx

"This contact's data can't be shared"

Switch off all accounts in your contacts settings, so that only the existing "local contacts" are displayed. Try to share a contact - it won't share.
Then add a new contact to the phone, and save it under "local contacts". It shares just fine.

What is different about the new contact added to the phone, that allows it to share, while others in the same "local contacts" folder will not?

I read somewhere that there's something about backing up/restoring contacts causing it to be messed up.

Did you restore your contacts from a backup?

Thanks, that does seem to make sense, and yes, I did restore my contacts from a backup.

Then I subsequently removed the BBLink account from the phone and re-synched the phone with the Outlook contact folder - that didn't help.

After some fiddling, I've concluded that any contact that has come into contact (pun) with BBLink, cannot be shared.

That brings me to the question of how to get my Outlook contacts folder into a state that is untainted by BBLink, and thereafter, somehow get it's contents into my phone's "local contacts" account.
