I don't know if it's just me but I am starting to find that WhatsApp is starting to take its sweet time getting messages even to the server. Let alone delivering them.

I am in the UK and I don't know if it's just me or if it is slowing down.

It seems to be working OK for me. Maybe try a delete and then install again?

Yeah gonna try that. Maybe it's just filling with kipple lol.

Just wanted to make sure it was just me and not the service.

I've noticed the same thing now for several weeks and across two different OS versions. I've done a couple of deletes and reinstalls. I've had it sit for hours before it sends.

Reinstalled and it's still not cracking. I wonder if a node or something is not playing ball. Also tried on my friends android and that's not exactly speedy. Odd.

    Upgraded to the MR release.
Finding WhatsApp doesn't receive messages pretty often.
I'll open the app to type a message and boom I get a flood of messages coming in.
    Looks like there's issues here.
I dunno why BlackBerry doesn't make better use of their beta zone to allow those who want to test updates etc before screwing it up for people who depend on their devices.

It's not Blackberry's fault if WhatsApp decides it doesn't want to play ball. That's down to the developer to keep it up to date with the OS should any issues arrive.

I have sent a email to them to see if there are issues.

Its been doing that to me for a month now. I have to go to the app itself just to refresh it and get tons of messages. BBM must make its way to iOS and Android. I'll only have one contact left on WhatsApp, she insists on Windows Mobile.

If it's a fault with WhatsApp then how exactly is it BlackBerry's fault?

Speeds seemed to have picked up today. Just installed the 10.2 leak so will see how it goes.

It picked up for a bit then dropped again. Their twitter still says they are experiencing issues. Just want to point out this is a speed issue relating to how long it's taking to hit the server.

Roll on BBM at this stage lol.

Lol no I don't think anything was disproved seeing as how the guy doing the video also said he uses a battery pull.
Have to confess haven't fully watched that podcast yet since the volume equalisation is so poor it makes it difficult for me to get through it.

That's a separate issue to this though.
Point is, if you offer a credible alternative to WhatsApp or Gmail etc, then you can afford to tell people not to complain about other services and use home made ones.
With BBM not being cross platform, people are forced to use WhatsApp. With BlackBerry scaling back their email offerings in BB10, people are forced to use services like Gmail.

Not playing nice with mainstream services and not offering a credible alternative leaves an OS in a very difficult situation. And I can blame BlackBerry for that, because in not making BBM cross platform yet, and not scaling up, rather than down, their email offerings, I'm forced to use one of the services they don't support properly.

    Sheesh, some people.
