Whatsapp seems to do that on any device it is on. Certainly on legacy bbos and android devices

I noticed it too, but on the latest version only. I installed the initial one yesterday at 23:00 and left my phone only on 2G (no wifi, data, gps etc) with 12% battery. In the morning at 9 am got 10% left. Updated WhatsApp, battery is draining fast, 1% percent each 15-20 minutes; app is not running, phone only on 2G (no wifi, data, gps etc)

There's no difference with the native app . Maybe you are using your phone more.

Installed last nite, was flat out on it and never noticed any difference, loving it, soo handy to have it native now, the sideloaded version was so buggy.

I suspected it was draining my battery after my 50% battery went to 0% while out for 3 hours. Barely used the phone too.

I was just wondering about that too. I only downloaded it to show them another download but I never use it. Had it on my old BB but deleted it after a few months. Now tonight I wonder why my phone has less juice than usual and the only thing I can think of is WhatsApp. Maybe I'm wrong so will give it a few more days.
