I remember back in the say BlackBerry boasted about buying TAT who created beautiful animations that were fluent and fast and good looking. When BB10 launched and even until 10.2, I don't see much of them being used. Does this change in 10.3? It would be nice to have some type of animation for deleting a message, kinda like when you pinch the hub to show all unread messages. That's a cool thing they put in. Would like to see more

TAT did a lot of experimental stuff that never made it into bb10. Even so, TAT is responsible for BB10's design.

I think that BlackBerry ran out of time and the more ambitious stuff got left behind.

Think they will ever find the time to bring some of that stuff in? I know functionality is more important that looks, but sometimes an OS needs good looks to attract new people

I hope they do. There was some nice stuff that was shown but never released.

I think the UI could use some sizzle.

BlackBerry is not about gimmicks. It works too well for iOS and Android devices.
BlackBerry should step up their game on gimmicks to a degree because, well, that's what consumers want. Hut they're not fighting for consumers for the foreseeable future so that's out the window.

Yeah, I too was looking forward to some of TAT's innovations because they really did have some cool stuff! You can see some of it in BB10 but I too hope they implement more stuff in future releases!

I'm not sure how many members of the TAT team are still with BlackBerry. I kind of blame TAT and QNX for BB10's shortcomings. QNX was little more than a fancy microkernal with a flash player. I guess that's good enough for a car stereo, but if you've ever used a sluggish PlayBook, well you know what I'm talking about. Then, TAT built the native presentation layer in Nokia's QT, which is certainly more performant, but who wants to learn C++? I'd be fine with QT if TAT gave us the awesome native animations and flair we were promised, but that never materialized. I think performance issues just killed everything. Even today, my Passport seems unfinished with some parts of the OS never hardened. I love the phone, but it's a little frustrating...

Passport is fine bro don't diss the berry.

Stuff like place flat to standby are more important than animation.

I want less animation cuz it faster.

Iphone and samsung is for hear8ng water sounds and animations when you swipe to wake.

10.3.1 drop the TAT stylized growing numbers in the calendar for this hot mess. Say what you will about TAT, BlackBerry is better off having benefited from their design influence.
