Make sure you back up using Link as well as look into your on-device photos and documents and drag and drop them onto your computer for safekeeping. (The ones you care about anyway.) Saving to the cloud such as Dropbox, OneDrive etc is also a good backup idea. I always put ‘save chats’ on for bbm but it won’t save individual chats as they’re saved to the device so wiped along with everything else. When you’ve done all that, go ahead and wipe. Take your SD card out before wiping.
Note: occasionally an SD card will corrupt. Do a backup of the SD itself before wiping the phone and save that in a separate folder.

Diasble BlackBerry Protect both on the device and via the Web.

Then wipe and confirm that BlackBerry anti-theft is truly off.

Google "BlackBerry Protect login". You'll find it. That's the same portal you would use to find your device, lock it, etc.

This is probably redundant, but it doesn't hurt.

Thanks. I get into protect.blackberry site and found protection "unavailable" may be due to it turn off inside my device. Now which one I do first.. wipe device from security wipe option from device or remove my device from my account on web site???

    Remove device, then wipe.
