Radio is part of the operating system. You have the core operating system, the applications and the radio is the file connecting you're phone to the wireless network.

Radio can be any number of things. We have the cell radio which dictates the signal coming to your device. Some devices have FM radios in them. You have your wife radio, which controls...Wifi signal...

The cell and wifi radio's are only mentioned in the OS files / engineering screens. OP should have been clearer.
