Hi,
Can anyone refer me to an OS (for the Q10 or Z10) where the SMS/Text Messages don't lag when composing a new text message?
I'm getting fed up with having to wait up to 10 seconds just to start typing.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, It happens when: you got your hub, click compose, click text messages, type and select a contact in the To field, then there's a pause/lag/delay while the phone loads your previous text messages.

I've heard that 10.2.1.200 doesn't have this problem. Is there any other OS (10.2.0.x) that doesn't have this delay?
It can be a leaked or official OS, i don't care at this point lol.

One question how many text messages do you have saved, if you have a huge amount you will see a delay after typing into the message box

It doesn't seem to matter how many txts i have per contanct. For example, I made myself a contact and I have about 20 text/sms messages in that convo. I'll get the load lag (lasting anywhere from 3-15seconds) no matter if I have 10 texts or 1000 texts in the convo
I'm trying out different sys.chat and sys.uri.textmessaging bars, I think i'm getting close. the chat bar from 10.2.0.228 works fine for wanting to compose a message and sending it quickly (no lag at all) ....BUT it doesn't load the text message convo at all.

Also what os are you on and have you restored from a previous os

I'm on the Q10 (SQN-100-3) running 10.2.0.1743. Yes I've restored from a previous OS (10.2.0.1047). I could wipe my texts clean, but is there anyway i can archive them if i need them later?

That's the answer. Buy the app, back up the text messages, then delete them and restore.
(Note: images in MMS will not restore if I am not mistaken though they will back up.)

This will tidy up the SMS database.
(On an older 10.2 leak iv had lag issiues when opening a conversation, gone since )

My current leak has been giving me a huge lag when sending a pic from the picture application. Although attaching it from the hub causes no problem.

After a few hours of extracting and trying different bars, I finally found a combo that seems to work good enough.
If you're composing a new text message, it won't actually load the previous texts (which I can live with as long at it's speedy...which it is).

I've compiled a small collection of bar files that I'm using with my current leak (10.2.0.1743).

If anyone else is experiencing the same text message lag/hang when you compose a new text, just download and install the following bars:

• sys.chat-10.2.0.433.bar [Dark Theme for SMS won't work anymore]
• sys.chatblend-10.2.0.645.bar
• sys.uri.textmessaging-10.2.0.164.bar

I've also thrown in some other goodies into my ZIP that make this leak better:

• Android Runtime with no permabar (sorry it's the locked one, might have to use debug tokens for some sideloaded apps)
• Newest BBM from OS 10.2.1.200
• New Camera from OS 10.2.1.200 (includes new facefocus feature)
• New Clock/Alarm from OS 10.2.1.200 (includes the ability to set vibrate as an alarm)

I'll still buy the SMS BACKUP app because I'm probably going to be needing something like it soon.

I am experiencing the same problem, it's quite annoying...no problem with replying to existing threads, only when composing new texts got the time lag.

Yup on 1743...Verizon, stock 1743 chat and text bars, with security wipe after initial os leak loaded...debug token...face focus camera bar...13 sideloaded apps...tv guide, games etc....all's well...

Has anyone found a solution to get rid of this problem permanently? now messaging lag has been a pain in the neck. each time I installed a new leak, the same problem always there. (ok, the three bars file would solve lag problem. but I would prefer a solution that need not the three bars)

The last .1767 build fixed that issue for me.
NB: it happened to me just for the big conversations and once per reboot.
Now...no more!

Same here but I dont save that much txt messages. Gotta be related to that. They probably get loaded to memory to the more you have the more it has to cache.
