As most of the Crackberrian is running 10.3.1 and all the BB10 users will get it in few months, what I would like to know is what's out there in terms of OS development. John Chen said that the company will mostly focus on enterprise software primarily and consumer market come after it. What should we hope for after Classic?

This is just my opinion of course but you sound as if you're not satisfied with what you have now!!
WHY the need to hope??? Why bother speculating and debating over something we don't know?

Enjoy what have today because tomorrow never knows!!

I'm satisfied with what I have now.. but down the line what to expect more... is there any more advancement/improvement to look forward to in 2015?? Is there any full touch phone in pipeline or how the OS will evolve?

Now that the OS and the device is somewhat settled. I would love for the development of the blackberry world. More apps. And I mean efficient and native apps. The square screen should be more valued when developers think about their apps.

    Just saying.

    This thread is luxury! Why?

Remember 1 year ago when BB was in coma? All the negativity, bad rumours about selling, etc.

And now this! Good signs. After everything is fine, 2015 will be better. With new devices and services.

I rather doubt most people on here are on 10.3.1 at all. It'll be a minority (and a vocal one at that). There is always the temptation to believe a self-selecting group is representative. It isn't. I would doubt that most users are even remotely aware that it is coming to their phone, let alone what it offers.

Let that happen first before worrying about what is to come.

You said it well, most Crackberrins. The rest of the users (wich is by far the most part) still have no idea what the Classic is, and are still using 10.2.1.

So until 10.3.1 and Classic are released officially, Blackberry will not be distracting the attention of the consumer to the "future" devices, because they want to sell Classics, they want to sell THIS YEAR not in 6 months time

I hope a full touch high end device is in the works. Can't say I'm overly fond of the screen loss when not typing with keyboard phones. Sliders are just not my thing either.

For the hardware part, you have the Z30 and for the software part, the official 10.3.1 release is around the corner... What else ?

We know Classic and 10.3.1 are right in the corner.. but beyond that what is out there for us Crackberrian to get excited as a consumer. Most of us don't care about enterprise.. so there's that.

Good grief! It's a communications device. Why all the angst about what is next? I still have an old Western Electric, dial telephone, in my garage, that I used for 30 years. Why? Because it did the job. I didn't sit around worrying about what was coming out, in the next 24 hours.

I realize that we live in a different age, and our devices do more things, but can't we enjoy what we have, for at least a few days, before we start looking for ways to ditch it for the next great thing?

Improving apps - yes please, BUT ABOVE ALL - make the OS better. No unpredictable word substitutions, a browser that loads my newspaper properly, allows Google maps to work in the browser etc. An email search function that actually works (like MS Outlook). A more capable remember app etc.

In my opinion, after Classic and 10.3.1, the next step for BlackBerry is to gain traction and set the milestone of getting 5% market share. A new full touch will be needed and proper marketing for the new BES suite so that enterprises become aware.

On top of that, Movirtu acquisition should pay back with virtual SIMS and users will be able to carry their personal and work lines in their BlackBerry smartphone.

Blend should evolve to have more features and integration with the host devices, and BB10 must continue showing why it is the best mobile operating system.

Also, NFC payments would be a very interesting feature in the most secure smartphones in the market.

I see good times for BlackBerry.

Great ideas, but until the phone is bullet proof and silky smooth EVERY TIME, I'll eventually jump ship even if we have 4 BB phones + 2 tablets and shares. It's the small things that in the end gets too much.

Unfortunately that is how the mobile industry works. Blackberry seems to finally be understanding that. Sink or Swim.
