If you need public transit directions, why wouldn't you go on the transit system website and use the trip planner that they all have? No one mapping app can be all things to all people.

I use Scout powered by TeleNav. It's been the most reliable for me.

I have to say, I just tried BeMaps (which I had to pay for). It really works well. I am over my Google Maps fix thanks to this app. Street views and satellite views work very well. It automatically uses BB Maps to navigate. I actually like BlackBerry Maps a lot during navigation. It does not drain my battery like Google navigation did either. I know that BlackBerry Maps is not perfect, but it does some things well. If they could just refine poi's and give you the estimated time of arrival, I would not complain.

BlackBerry Maps verbal traffic updates are excellent. I can adjust eta on the fly while talking. Well done.

How do you adjust etc on the fly with BB Maps? I am starting to really like BB Maps. At least in navigation.

For navigation I use "Mireo Don't Panic". Brought me through Western Europe without any problems. Doesn't use any data. I was honestley impressed, especcially if you compare the price with a stand alone nav-device.
Cannot choose between glas or plastic keyboard
Mireo works great even here in northern Europe (Sweden). Really impressed how well it estimated the arrival time. Totally worth the price in my opinon. If you have a fully charged Z30 or a Passport you'll get far but I would recommend a charger or extra battery if you use the Z10.

Besides "Mireo Don't panic" I use BeMaps Pro (Based on Google maps). Works reasonable well. I like that you can see the heading in real time as you turn. But sometimes because of that it requires you to calibrate it a little to often, but overall it's a good map app in my opinon.

bb maps while i'm driving if i need it, mostly use it at work if i don't have the stand alone gps turned on, and google maps if i just need to look up an address and use the satellite view to see what's in the area and to check traffic. i don't use google maps for driving since the screen shuts off while i'm driving and have the phone charging. i haven't been able to find any setting to keep the screen on while driving and plugged into the charger.
