    Hi what's the latest. Os for z30 as i picked up the z20 and mine is showing 10.2.0.224 as the software releases and is version 10.2. 0.1521

    Need to know is this the current and latest version appreciate info..

    Dont understand how is it carrier dependent as it's the upgrade for the device and the software on it...so what's the definition of having....update

    It's carrier dependent in that it's up to your carrier to push the OS over the air. Assuming there's no update or anything out for your specific device model on your carrier, then yes, 10.2.0.1521 is the latest software for your device.

    Of course, there's newer than 10.2.0.1521 out, for other carriers or leaked from BlackBerry internal builds. The latest of those (so far) is 10.2.0.1803.

    Unless said consumers decide to run an autoloader to install a certain OS, or download another carrier's OS and install that.

    One point of clarification, carriers don't push the update, they approve it and you get the update from BlackBerry. So BlackBerry pushes it to your handheld once they are allowed to.
