Just curious: where do deleted files end up on the Z10? Is the deleted file size reclaimed and available again?
    Thanks

I would suggest the obvious answer: the deleted files get deleted

How recoverable are they? Do they get written over first thing, or does the os move to the fresher spots on a card. I don't know much about how this works, but I have been curious about the security in the phone. Especially considering that BB10 has the bug where deleted apps will reappear installed after a reboot. So...deleted items don't get deleted?

Valid questio, OP. One that I'd like explored.

Deleted files are not overwritten immediately but eventually the space will be used by another file. If you need complete erasure of the file use Max File Shredder which is available from BlackBerry World.

It depends on whether you mean the device storage, or the sdcard. The sdcard, being FAT, acts just like any other fat filesystem, in that the data stays there for "a while" and tools like Windows' Undelete can probably recover them.

The internal storage is a probably a bit different, as the device is hopefully using trim to improve flash performance, which would have the side-effect of destroying data quicker.
