The option to include "Google Local Search" in the extended search results is baked into BBos7 but missing on BB10. If I search for a particular store that has multiple locations with my Bold, all the locations are listed geographically with the closest first including phone number but BB10 extended search allows Foursquare, Spotcast, bbMaps but none of these seem to work as well as the option "Google Local Search" why leave out this powerful option which is arguably the best? Still scratching my head.

This was never a feature of BBOS. If you want this filter. Set it in webmail to filter to a sub folder. Then don't sync that subfolder. Voila. Never comes to phone.

Yes it was a BBOS + BIS feature, it all happened in the NOC so spam or filtered emails never reached the phone, that was great for roaming too.

That's quite unrealistic, isn't it? The device has to download the list first - which is all the emails practically. Then it delete the unwanted emails.

How is it unrealistic when it has already been available for the past 10+ years in BBOS?

It was not BBOS +BIS. It was BIS.....period.
Clicking on setup for email just launched a browser to BIS setup. Non of it was a feature of the OS.

Although like the other person stated, it needs to be done BEFORE the phone. So yes, adding the feature TO the phone would be redundant.

Filter properly at webmail and all is working.

BBOS + BIS came as a package, there was no separation, it was easy and elegant, far more simple then logging into your webmail every time you wanted to block an email address.

very unrealistic since you can just glue a new button to the phone. I mean software. Programmable mute button would be cool, since not everyone uses Intelligent assistant but then they would need to let us customize that bottom Bar on the home screen because the camera app there would be redundant.

and BBOS will remain the most productive OS on the market. If it had a faster browser, Android apps and a faster OS it would trump BB10.

The phone was fully customizable, it had plenty of features that no OS has today and everything was completely integrated. They just reached a dead end because the base OS was just too slow and old.

I agree about bbos being the most productive compared to BB10. So much so that I still use a Bold 9930 as my work device but a Q10 on the weekend. Hope this thread could influence further development of BB10. Not going backwards as some suggest, but moving forward with even greater emphasis on getting this done faster like we could on bbos. Great thread

    Wow, awesomely said!

Here's hoping the Classic gets MANY of those efficient BBOS features soon after release in OS updates!!

-Delay in the startup of universal search if you start typing on the homescreen. It's pretty long actually compared to the old OS...
-They axed BB Traffic and didn't really revive it's features in the new Blackberry Maps... I don't think they improve Blackberry maps fast enough to really matter anyways...
    -Notification customization (fixed in 10.3.1)
-keyboard shortcuts (possibly fixed in 10.3.1)

I have a list of features from BBOS that are in 10.3.1 but I won't cross anything off until the 10.3.1 features become public in a a month.

They do indeed but they tried to leave it all behind with BB10, now they're scrambling to bring back features owners are demanding back.

You can.... kind of. If you have normal profile set and volume down to nothing it will prompt if you want to switch to mute or vibrate.

When you volume up it changes back to normal

That's quite the list the OP has consolidated. I hope that BlackBerry has many of these things on their road map. I have always talked about the need for BlackBerry 10 to reach feature parity with bbos if BlackBerry expects legacy users to migrate.
