What does the Secure Networking process do?-img_20140211_162927.png
My Q10 is not connected to a BES or BIS.
I have an Exchange account, a couple of SSL secured IMAP accounts, and spotty BlackBerry Link connections to a couple of computers.
What traffic does the Secure Networking process secure and how does it work?

Web searching yielded much about general security of blackberry.

Is the symbol between "LTE" and Signal Strength an indicator of Secure Networking?

Sound logic... the BB logo does mean you're connected to the BlackBerry network. As for what it really means, Secure Networking, that could be just a fancy name for a lot of things happening in the background.

It's the data connectivity symbol. If you don't see that them you are not getting emails.

BlackBerry symbol means you are connected to BlackBerry servers. These phones no longer use BIS for data and email. They use a typical connection like any other phone now.

As for the secure network connection. I'm not positive but I believe this service is actually used for the BlackBerry Link software on your PC and the phone. I think it's used for the secure tunnel to your PC over the mobile network or wifi connection.
