No BIS all the way. Much better data plans available in Canada when you don't need BIS.

Lol people still moaning about the loss of BIS for bb10 devices?? Look if BIS means that much to u then go back to the legacy BlackBerry devices.

Geezus christ on a stick, BIS is dead and outdated...thank god its gone, I couldn't deal with the crappy web speeds on BIS.

BIS had some pretty good plans and awesomely battery saving email technologies but it was just way too slow. I'm only on 3G and it's still like comparing dial up to GFibre.

Both ... normal data plan 10GBP/month + optional BIS 2.50GBP/month for global roaming ... that's what I use on my BBOS7 device.

The only major feature of BIS that I miss in a big way would be the data compression. Beyond that, like I have said in previous threads about this, I can kinda understand why they stopped sending most data through the NOC and through BIS. On newer legacy devices the data speeds were ok, never amazing though. Yeah it beat my android phone at the time but it still wasn't incredibly fast. As well, it was and is a single point through which all data would end up going through, and after the last major BIS outage I think RIM didn't want to have to deal with that sort of headache again on such a large scale.

I personally wish they would update the BIS service to work flawlessly with BB10, and when outages come up perhaps allow the devices to revert back to The standard network.

Well if they made some major speed and efficiency updates to the NOC I would love to have BIS on at all times except in the event of an outage.

Data plans were the same whether getting BIS or not here in Canada. The only difference is with the lesser plans that have very little data, where BIS would allow the carrier to limit the device to only have access to social services or only email and bbm.

Not wit all carriers. Also, you can't use BIS on prepaid plans in Canada.

Great, so you want the slowness of BIS without the advantages of BIS. Well, that makes a lot of sense...

I am tempted to say BIS but its best to do away with it, because it complicates BlackBerry and carriers jobs when it comes to establishing the service in not so very privacy centred countries. BIS keeps these countries from experiencing full functionality of BlackBerry devices.

Maybe the should just make it optional instead of required as in the legacy devices.

BIS as an option, not as an mandatory requirement. Routing of all traffic thru BIS or BES almost killed Blackberry and alienated it from developer community.

Yes that's exactly what they should do,
After 10.2.1 that should be the next job.
    Call 10.2.2, 10.3 even 11?

It should still be present for email push/notification. Other than that, there's not much sense in implementing it. Perhaps one could have the option for that too.
